nike swim wear: i wear surf slippers. mine are made by nike. they have a fairly thick rubber bottom with nubs and it goes up the sides a good half inch. the mesh on top is fine enough to keep out sand. best of all, i wear them in the water when i swim. i never ever go barefoot.
nike swim wear: but wait! in the late seventies, the remains of launchers and wear fuel tanks were still visible at nike site ba-92 near where i lived north of baltimore. supposedly, the former launch site is now the site of the worthington valley swim club.
nike swim wear: this site housed an underground missile magazine with concrete walls more than a foot thick with storage space for at least 8 nike-hercules surface-to-air missiles! is it possible that the swim club is there merely wear for appearances' sake, and that the site is still active? (site ba-92's former control center and radar site, located about a quarter-mile from the launch site, is now the "ssg isadore s. jachman army reserve center". who controlled the nike anti-aircraft system during the cold war? the army!)
nike swim wear: pat, always swim in the way that you are comfortable and that doesn't hurt. it may be slightly different than everybody (or anybody) else's, but if it feels wear good, gets you in the pool and most important, doesn't injure you...well, to wear paraphrase nike, "just swim it!"
nike swim wear: i'm going to have to sport the nike slogan: just do it. no matter how your legs feel (unless it's painful for you to move them at all) just get off wear that bike and run. it's the only way you'll get any better at it. for the wear swim all you really have to do is survive it and not get too far behind. winning the swim doesn't do much good, so just make sure you're able to swim the distance.
