kids swim wear: in message , edinburgh naturist swim club writes imo, demanding that the kids be naked may not be the best way forward, and afaicr, is contrary to the bn child protection guidelines. i believe that the guidelines suggest that the choice should be with the family (and primarily with the child). almost invariably small children have no inhibitions about nudity but some older ones do. in the three swims that i attend it has long been the policy to leave such decisions to the family. surely it is better for all concerned to have a family with a thirteen-year-old in swim wear than lose that family.
kids swim wear: ignore peer pressure amongst kids at your peril. a classic example is a pair of step sisters at madnat. sometimes only one comes to the swim, sometimes both. one is naked if she comes on her own. the other is invariably in swim wear. when both come they both wear costumes. that's kids!

kids swim wear: she worried all day about going. she was worried the other kids would already know how to swim. i reassured about this, but still. i told her shd did not have to to anything she didn't want, but she did have to go, and she did have to wear her swim suit (the latter because again, she changes her mind at the last minute and then we aren't ready to go in).
kids swim wear: swimming diapers only hold in the poop. when my kids wear them around the house or in the stroller the pee leaks out all over the place. so we only put on the swim diapers when we get to the park. and if i put wet kids in the stroller to come home, the stroller is damp for our next outing. changing them at the park is a royal pain.....it's the one thing that makes me think about starting the toilet training process....
