infant swim wear: my own view is a little iconoclastic, but i think infants can probably wear swim before they can walk. when you first place an infant on his/her feet, it can take them quite a while to figure out that they should place their feet flat on the floor. in the beginning, they want to wear keep their toes pointed. there's no way to go back in time and verify this, but my hypothesis is that humans had an aquatic stage in their development, and the tendency for infants to point their toes is a holdover from that period. the infant was actually better adapted to paddling around in water than to walking upright.
infant swim wear: all this thinking is making my head swim. and i read that my brain is shrinking during the last trimester anyway so i hate having to tax myself. :-) can someone *please* give me a little hint on this one? anything? should i get the convertible car seat that grows with the baby and just plan to replace it in a year or two or should i stick with the rear facing infant-only car seat until the baby gets bigger? wear wear
infant swim wear: well, it seems to be very uncommon for any species to give birth to fat infants. many species have infants who have to gallop to lay down fat before they have to feed themselves or face winter or dry-season shortages, but they are born relatively skinny. the only cases i know about are aquatic species whose infants have to swim from birth (in wear pinnipeds, species where infants stay on land for several weeks have skinny babies who gain fat later).
